Artist Profile: Magdalen College Choir

Magdalen College Choir
The Choir offers the students the opportunity to experience both traditional and
contemporary liturgical music. The choir’s source materials abide by the ordered
rhythms of the liturgical calendar, rely upon the long standing tradition of
sacred music including Gregorian chant, and always respect the directives of the
Church.
Each incoming student meets personally with the Choir Director in order to
discover the range of his or her voice as well as to discuss his or her musical
background. A student who can play the organ or another instrument may be called
upon to accompany the Choir.
Performance Choir
The Performance Choir consists of an auditioned group of students who offer
concerts and sing at community functions and nursing homes. Their programs range
from American and international folk songs to Big Band classics, jazz, and
gospel music.

for Mass on feast days and Sundays and for special occasions at the College.

group. They help in enrich the liturgies with the great treasure of the Church –
